Interior Design

Architects are spatial experts and possess a keen knowledge of spatial relations. BGA’s approach to Interior Design focuses not only on the aesthetic design elements, but we also anticipate the operational and infrastructure needs of the project and the selected space. BGA’s ability to analyze each project and space requirements allow us to provide significant value to both the owner and the end users. Whether designing a new space or renovating an existing one, including an architect on your team early in the site selection and real estate negotiation process should be a top priority.

BGA’s Interior Design Services can be categorized into two Segments:

  1. The Investigation Segment – prior to the acquisition of the building or space, and
  2. The Implementation Segment – once a site selection has been made.

During the Investigation Segment, BGA’s services include:

  1. Review of the space requirements of the new project (Programming Report)
  2. Preparation of Preliminary Layouts based on the Program, for the space under consideration
  3. Consultation with the Broker and the Real Estate Attorney to review the relevant portions of the Lease or Purchase agreement and submit recommendations
  4. These recommendations may include Handicap Accessibility (ADA); Building Signage; Elevator Access; minimum Heating, Cooling and/or Electrical specifications; and NYC Building & Fire Code considerations

BGA’s Investigation Segment Services provide a thorough analysis of the site, identification of key project goals and challenges, and the development of recommendations and solutions. BGA’s clients benefit from our expertise during this important Design and Construction segment, from the continuity of our Project team staffing to relevant design solutions to meeting project schedule and budget goals.

During the Implementation Segment, BGA’s provides these important services:

  1. Schematic Design
  2. Design Development
  3. Contract Documents
  4. Bidding & Negotiation
  5. Construction Administration
  6. Furniture Coordination

BGA enjoys the reputation of producing rigorous Design and Contract Documents. What does this mean for you? The Contract Documents drive the entire project. When these documents are detailed and precise, the project moves forward according to schedule, on time and within budget. Client expectations are met and everyone involved derives a sense of pride and accomplishment.
