“In 2017, the principal ownership of SoHo’s Prince Building at 568-578 Broadway, Aurora Capital Associates and Allied Partners Inc., began a multi-million dollar capital improvement program to reposition the office portion of the building.This was prompted by the expansion of the digital media holding company, Group Nine Media’s occupancy to 100,000 square feet.
Up until that time, the office portion of 568 Broadway had been mostly multi-tenanted, subdivided floors with antiquated building systems; so bringing the Prince Building up to the standards of the area’s corporate technology tenants was a daunting task for Building Management. The first step in the process, and the most important step as far as I am concerned, was engaging a top-notch Building Architect with deep experience not only in the ‘nuts and bolts’ of design and construction, but also with a demonstrated track record in navigating the Landmarks Preservation Commission’s approval process.
